SPIDER MIKE KING

As a son of the inner city Spider Mike King has been an integral and
influential part of the Manchester music scene for nearly six decades.

Original singer, songwriter and guitarist, Spider Mike has performed
all over the UK and Europe both as a solo artist and with various incarnations
of his own bands.

His first group in 1971 featured Martin Hannett on bass and Paul Burgess on drums.
Martin later became the Svengali producer of many bands including ‘Joy Division’ and
Spider Mike was an experience that offered great musical reward and pleasure.
He even took time out in the 1980’s to accompany ‘Nico’ (ex-Velvet Underground)
as her guitarist touring Europe and the USA.

Spider Mike King has never stopped writing and performing through the years and his
released recordings include ‘Animal’ (Test Pressing), ‘The Blood River Sessions’
‘Grapes of Wrath’, ‘CIA’, ‘Do What ya Diddy’, to name but a few.

His latest recording titled ‘Hollow Man’ will be available in audio/visual formats and
released on 22nd July 2020 streamed online.

So check out Spider Mike King. You’ll find it worth your while
and good for your musical soul.

With its Beefheart-esque rock/blues vibe. ‘Hollow Man’ is a visceral comment on the abuse of power and corporate greed. Spider Mike weaves a tapestry of musical and lyrical wonder that, when combined with Colin O’Toole’s dystopian imagery, impacts with a resonance that relates to these troubling times and appeals to the sense of empathy and care that we should all have for each other. It will be available for audio/visual streaming on August 10th -2020
